Judit Polgar Crushes Topalov

Submitted by SonofPearl Chess.com
Judit Polgar hasn't played much competitive chess since the distractions of motherhood, but she proved that she can still mix it with the best players at a rapid quadrangular KO tournament in Mexico.
The event was part of the first UNAM Chess Festival which also featured an international open competition, and simultaneous exhibitions from none other than Garry Kasparov and Anatoly Karpov.
Polgar recovered from losing her opening game to beat Vassily Ivanchuk 2.5-1.5 in the first round, while Topalov overpowered local GM Manual Leon Hoyos 3.5-0.5.
In the final Polgar crushed Topalov 3.5-0.5 to win in style, finishing with a King's Gambit!
The rate of play was 10 minutes per game plus 5 seconds per move.
