Chess will be in the official program of the 26th SEA (South East Asian) Games scheduled from 11 to 22 November 2011 in Indonesia. The first meeting of Technical Delegates from all 42 sports was held in Jakarta and Palembang on 25 & 26 July. FIDE General Secretary Ignatius Leong and local officials from the Indonesian Chess Federation participated in the meetings and site inspection for Chess. With 24 sports to take place in Palembang, South Sumatra, Chess will be contested in 9 events will 9 Gold medals at stake. |
