![]() Top seeded players in both sections, IM Anna Muzychuk and GM Dmitry Andreikin, justified their high rankings and won the titles in the Girls and Juniors Championships respectively. Muzychuk suffered a setback in round 12, against the talented WGM Deysi Estela Cori Tello of Peru, but the last round victory kept her half a point ahead of the Russian WGM Olga Girya. Andreikin relatively quickly settled for a draw against the second-seeded Jon Ludvig Hammer, while his compatriot Sanan Sjugirov struggled with black in a long game against A.R. Saleh Salem. That game also finished in a draw and Andreikin claimed the title on better additional criteria, while Sjugirov earned a silver medal. To the delight of local chess fans, the bronze went to GM Dariusz Swiercz, who was an early leader in the tournament. Both competitions were a 13-rounds Swiss events.
