MALAYSIA FIRST CHESS SILVERS

With the 5th. ASEAN Paragames Kuala Lumpur 2009 approaching, thanks to GilaChess, a revisit to the team who brought proud and glory to Malaysia for the first 3 Silvers from the 3rd. ASEAN Paragames Manila 2005 was made possible.
The team was led by sifu AL Mohamad as the Asean Technical Delegate and Rizal Ahmad Kamal, the Chief Coach but the attractions of Manila night life and casinos around the camp site was the attractive diversions for the the missing gold!!

Anyway, I don’t think our Malaysian team got enough publicity for the fantastic result.

Here’s the original post from GilaChess.com:-

During the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Paraplegic Games (ASEAN Para Games) in Manila from December 12 to 21. Our Malaysian chess team had won THREE (3) Silver medals!! One Silver medal from the physical handicapped team event (Chua Heng Meng, Ho Hea King, Hasidin Abdul Rashid & Khairul Nizam Abd Wahab); One Silver medal from the visually impaired team event (NM Choo Min Wang, Mahadzir Derani, Mat Idris Saman & Rosham Sidek); One Silver medal from the visually impaired individual event (NM Choo Min Wang). Congratulations!!

Malaysia Boleh !! Thanks GilaChess.
