KTJ Invitational Chess Tournament 2009

The chess club of Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar will be organising THE 1^st Invitational Chess Tournament.

Venue : Tuanku Najihah Hall, Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar

New Date : 3 October 2009 (Saturday)

Time : 9.00 a.m. – 6.00 p.m.

Entry Fees : RM36 per team(3 players)

1. This tournament will be based on the FIDE 7 Round Swiss System.

2. The number of participants is cap at a maximum 100 players (50 players each category).

3. A school can only consist up to 3 people. (Cumulative for 3 player point will be taken)

4. Age is taken as of 1st of January 2009.

5. Each game will have a time control of 30 minutes per side.

6. A case of walk over will be granted if a player did not turn up for 5 minutes. In the eventuality that both players are absent, both will lose the game.

7. Players that are absent without a valid reason will be removed in the next round.

8. The organizing committee reserves the right to make amendments or any changes to the rules and regulation if the need arises.

9. To register, send an email to weijie@ktj.edu.my and cc it to kys13a@hotmail.com. State your name, identity card no, contact number, e-mail address and institution. If you are a rated player please do state your ratings as well.

10. Deadline of registration is on 25 September. Any late registration will only be catered if there are still places available.

11. All payment must be done on spot latest by 8.45am at the secretariat on that day itself.

12. Lunch will be provided for at RM5 per individual and it is optional.

SHAKAM KL09

Ahmad Shabery Cheek (tengah) memberi kata-kata semangat kepada beberapa atlet Para-ASEAN negara yang menerima insentif masing-masing selepas majlis penyampaian SHAKAM di Majlis Sukan Negara, semalam.

Majlis Penyampaian Skim Hadiah Kemenangan Sukan (Shakam) untuk Sukan Para ASEAN 2009 di Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN) bersama Menteri Belia dan Sukan.

Datuk Ahmad Shabery telah menyampaikan Shakam bernilai RM305,000 kepada 55 atlit yang menyumbang 94 pingat emas Malaysia pada Sukan Para Asean 2009, bulan lalu.

Daripada jumlah itu, atlit ping pong, Koh Zhi Liang menerima nilai tertinggi sebanyak RM12,812 menerusi empat pingat emas dalam acara ping pong ketika atlit olahraga, Mohd Fazli Fauzil menerima RM10,624 selepas meraih empat emas menerusi 100m, 200m, 4x100m dan 4x400m. Choo Min Wang yang meraih tiga emas menerusi sukan catur menerima RM9,583.


Tahniah NM Choo Min Wang dan Nur Fieqha Mohd Halil dari sukan Catur yang berjaya menyumbang 7 Pingat Emas untuk negara antara mereka berdua.

Begitu juga dengan atlet catur lain Mah Hassan Omar, Shaharuddin Sidek, Norain Fatiha Mohd. Yusoff, Atirah Azman, Teo Suat Nei, Aqilah Syahira Ahmad, Intan Juliana Zainal Abidin dan Tham Suet Nei.

Semua telah mendapat wang raya awal dan amat berbaloi sekali.

Putrajaya Community Chess Tournament 2009

5th September 2009 - The 2009 Putrajaya Chess Tournament was held succesfully at the Dewan Kumuniti Presint 9, Putrajaya. The tournament was orgainsed by Perbadanan Putrajaya. The arbiter incharge was International Arbiter (FIA) Abdul Latiff Mohamad.

The six round swiss system tournament with 20 minutes time control for each player was divided into three categories - under 12, under 16 and above 16. A total of 85 players took part in this year edition.

Thanks Hairul for blog as sifu needs the fotos as did not bring camera and congrats for being the unbeaten champion of Putrajaya 2009. Repeat it next Ramadan ok.

This yearly Ramadan event at Putrajaya shows that while fasting, chess events can go on attracting regulars, surprise a few familiar seniors from PCMM tournaments before, turning up and not knowing PCMM have been dead and buried. Thats life in Malaysian Chess but this tournament is exclusively for Putrajaya Community and it was smooth sailing for Putrajaya chess community.
